About Us

Ace Liftaway was established in 1988 by Philip and Melanie Liddell. They started with one truck and eight mini skips. Since then, the waste fleet has grown and now has various different vehicles including Skip Loaders, Roll On/Roll Off Vehicles, Tipper Grab Loaders, Tippers, Tractor Units and Trailers and Compactor Trucks. We have over 1500 skips of various sizes on hire in the south of Hampshire. We are based in Romsey and operate throughout Hampshire and Wiltshire.

In 1996 Ace Liftaway Sanitation Services was established to complement the existing skip hire business. In 2013 Ace Liftaway’s directors, Philip and Melanie Liddell, celebrated their 25th anniversary in business and this coincided with the rebranding of Ace Liftaway Sanitation Services to Ace Loos. Since then, the business has grown and we are able to offer a range of portable toilets and various sanitation units for every event, including our range of VIP luxury portable toilets. These units are the best available on the market and are supported by dedicated and professional staff.

In 2002 we moved from our Braishfield Premises to Yokesford Hill Industrial Estate, at Belbins, Romsey. Here we have been able to build the most technically advanced Waste Recycling and Processing Facility. With this new facility we are able to recycle 90% of all waste brought into Yokesford Hill, producing recycled aggregates to a consistent quality which allows re-use back into construction and civil engineering.

Ace Liftaway are continuing to grow and expand the company, training the staff is essential to the company’s future. Various apprenticeships are ongoing within the various departments, from Truck Fitters and Plant and Machinery Fitters to HGV Drivers. Managing Director, Philip Liddell, believes that the future of Ace Liftaway lies in the young people we train today.

In 2014 new government legislation saw that all HGV Drivers completed 35 hours of training in order to gain their CPC, ensuring that they are safe to drive on the public highway.

The recycling staff completed an NVQ2 in waste management, enabling them to have a greater understanding of our sector within waste management and recycling. Last year in total over 75% members of staff were trained alongside their work in some way.

Health & Safety

All new staff, however experienced, undergo a rigorous training programme. Further on road and site development continues until we are confident that the staff member is competent enough to operate alone, even at this stage training and driver assessment is ongoing. All staff are uniformed and wear appropriate PPE at all times.

Communication

The call centre is staffed by full time professional staff who build a relationship with our customers in order to understand their individual needs and requirements. Our call centre and vehicles are all equipped with two-way radios which allowing staff to provide estimated times of arrival, half an hour or an hour notice of arrival and to re-route a vehicle in cases of emergency.

Security

Here at Ace Liftaway data protection is a priority. We comply in full with the Data Protection Act at all times. The information you give us will only be used to fulfil your order. We will not sell, rent or exchange your information to any other organisations.
